Music review – Linkin Park Waiting for the End

Linkin Park – Waiting for the End

My first entry in 2011 and happens to be on February, my favorite month of the year!!! Blogging wasn’t in my list of new year’s resolution this year. I happen to enjoy baking and having interest in food. Hmmm…? I’ll save the baking part in another blog entry.

I was at Pastamania restaurant at Arena Country Club last week and I came across a familiar sounding song but not too sure which band plays it. Then yesterday I heard the song again on 977 Music The Mix Adult Contemporary Music from Chaska and I managed to Google the song. Click the link below to open the video clip.

YES… LINKIN PARK!!!! New song!!! A recent comeback!!!!

I grow up listening to Linkin Park but I find this song is far from what they use to play. I really thought it was Uncle Kracker doing a feature in an alternative rock band.

Don’t get the wrong idea. Guys, this song is not that bad!!!! -  it captures and engage me because that’s what Linkin Park is good at and why they have such huge fan base. I anticipate this could be their next hit of their new album – it’s just so… Linkin Park…

A couple of Stuppppi piak!! buttons

These are expression buttons for those who need one. I drew it for Fadly.

Your Silhouette is Blocking My View

I just want to keep this blog post short & sweet. The images I took below are self-explanatory for your musing. Cheers!

Getting Trippy with Tea

Normally, tea is not really my ideal breakfast beverage. Recently I have been brewing my cup of tea the first thing I arrive at the office. Quirks on this tea label tickles my fancy such as:

  • The name on the tin says: CLASSICS Lady Grey Tea.
I’m a real lady drinking tea!

  • There are blue flowers in the tea leaves! Trippy!
The blue flowers are actually Korenbloem (Cornflower).

It smells like what it describe on the label:

A fragrant, bright and light black tea infused with orange, lemon and bergamot flavours.

It smells of strong orange and lemon infusion with a stench of black tea. It’s really comforting to enjoy this tea on a quiet and cold morning as it calms my nerves and makes me feel relaxed. I usually prefer it with a teaspoon of sugar, just enough to take the bitter black tea taste away but not too much to override the orange, lemon and bergamot flavours.

I’m going to hang on to this morning routine for a bit until it’s out of stock. I wonder where can I get this tea in Singapore? I don’t normally find this label in the local supermarkets.

The Story Behind That Cat’s Stare

What’s going in the mind of these cats?

Annoyed.
This is Matahari. She lives in my kitchen balcony. Matahari was relaxing on my bed when I took this shot and she gave me that annoyed look.

Pain.
This is my friend’s, Hafez, cat: Ajul. I was at Hafez’s house for a Hari Raya visit. Ajul is recovering from diabetes. He is an old cat, probably 12-15 years old. I was told Ajul had been fed rice since he was a kitten. That could have been the cause to his sickness today – too much sugar in his blood. Poor Ajul! I could see the pain in your eyes… get well soon, baby!

Content.
This is Peenoy. She is a street cat living just a few blocks near my house. I’ve only seen her eat, sleep, eat, sleep… countless number of times whenever I walked the path she strays. It seems like the neighbours have been feeding her well – look at her rounded belly! Never seen her chase after people for food nor play around with other cats. This is a one  HAPPY cat.

MRT Control Room Escapade

Is there an escape route above?

Dhoby Ghaut MRT Station, 21:07.

Who’s that tall man?

Who’s that tall man?

( I always get that… from friends or colleagues when we chatted on msn.)

Me: ”He’s my boyfriend!”

Colleague: “Oh, so tall!”

Me: “Nah, he’s only 1.8m tall. I’m the one who is short. His head got cut off. Haha…”

Colleague: “Cut off the leg then!”

Me: “I don’t know! MSN messenger automatically cut off the top.”

Nothing is normal between us. The irony is, we are at both sides of the extreme and we need each other to get the balance.

Guitar Hero 5 Mobile – Unable to Connect to Server?

I’m a BIG Guitar Hero fan! If I have to wait for my friend who would be an hour late, I’d head straight to the arcade to jam with Guitar Hero. Yeah, you can call me a rock chick. Challenging my coordination skills while playing on some of the best rock songs in the hits chart is a bonus to my interest.

I just bought a Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 mini in April this year. If you had guessed I purchased a Guitar Hero game to my Xperia mini, you guessed it right!

I purchased the game directly from PlayNow(TM) application. After the purchase, launching the game for the first time was smooth and easy. I played the Career mode on medium difficulty and at every song, trying to score a 5-stars rating so I could unlock a new song. It’s more than five weeks now I’ve been encountering a network error. It showed me an error which says, “Unable to connect to server. Please try again later.”

Now I can’t download the new Set List after unlocking a new song. Did anybody have the same problem here? Any advice? I appreciate any help. Please comment. Thanks!

Cooking Chicken Curry

I always love cooking for my guests when they are coming over to the house. Today I invited Hafez and Atiqah to feast on the meals I prepared. I made chicken curry and this dish will be served with basmati rice. To round up the meal, my mom also cooked an indian dish called keema. Keema is a minced beef cooked in curry, potato, tomato, spices and green peas. It is to be eaten with chappati, or it looks like a pancake. Enjoy the pictures!

Testing my Xperia X10 mini with WordPress blog account

I just setup my WordPress account on my new mini. I took a shot of this picture from my window view and tried posting it directly to my blog post. I’m using wireless internet at home. I find the blog user interface of wordpress is very clear and concise – from entering title, content, keyword, insert media from your device, selecting category and publishing it. The interface is pretty straightforward. Even editing is easy by just selecting options on the menu. I’m impressed with this mini! Good things do come in small packages. It makes blog posting simple and easy breezy. I’m loving it! I just wonder if it can sync blog updates to facebook?
